I am a foreign student in Darmstadt and unfortunately I decided to trust Deutsche Bank. The service is terrible - local branch personal is uninformed and unhelpful when it comes to anything more complex than opening an account. They will refer you to the website or simply say they don't know. Once, when I had a problem with a transaction to my account I had to go to the main office in Frankfurt and press them from there to at least get some explanation of what is going on. But the transaction still returned to the sender, because as it turned out - the local branch did not bother to contact me for a clarification they needed. Telephone service is the other party they would refer you to all the time. It takes about 1h of waiting to get any response,and sometimes it just cuts off after 40 min of waiting. Of course the telephone service is pretty much as useless as the branch. I would not recommend this bank to anyone who values their time and money.
