While touring in Saskatoon, I was lucky enough to tour the factory. It’s a top-notch, state-of-the-art facility. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I had to return for soundcheck, and a team member kindly gave me a ride to try out the SP1. I played it that night and haven't put it down since. The fanned fret system is effective, with a focused and articulate B string. The 32-inch scale on the G string prevents it from sounding thin, and there are no dead spots on the 6th and 7th frets. The entire bass has a consistent response, and the pickup selector switch is a great addition. Each position sounds fantastic, and the tone knob offers a smooth roll-off. The hardware is sleek and modern, making it comfortable and inspiring to play. A truly innovative design!
