I interacted with a representative who was friendly and straightforward, informing me that work was needed on the vehicle and that it would be completed before I took it home. I requested the timing belt replacement due to the age and mileage of 92,000 miles, but I was assured it had been done, which it hadn't. As soon as I left with the vehicle, the tire pressure sensor light activated during my drive home. I adjusted the pressure, but the light remained on. After visiting a local tire shop, I discovered that the valve was damaged, and although I had it replaced, the light still didn't turn off. When I brought it back to the service center to address this, they attempted to blame the tire shop for not reinstalling the sensor, despite the light coming on right after I collected the car. I had to set the handbrake quite high (which I initially thought was normal due to my limited knowledge about cars), but it turns out the handbrake has not been functioning properly since I purchased it. I acquired the vehicle on December 4, 2024, and on November 3, I had it checked before the MOT was due. I received a list of issues and was informed by multiple sources that this vehicle should not have passed the MOT back in 2024. The amount of repairs needed is astonishing for just 11 months of ownership, with minimal mileage as well. I paid £5,500 for the car, which will cost me over £9,000 by the time I finish paying off the finance. In just 11 months, I've spent over £1,000 on repairs. Issues include:
- Track rod ends for both sides.
- CV boots for both sides.
- Middle and rear exhaust boxes.
- Rear brake shoes (causing the handbrake issue).
- Tracking and new tires (which should have been done in the last 11 months).
- Offside shock absorber.
- Nearside front coil spring.
- All brake pipes coated in grease, making them hard to inspect during MOTs, so I won’t know about any potential problems. It’s astonishing how they manage to pass MOTs when the vehicles clearly require significant work. This could lead to serious consequences if someone experiences an unfortunate accident due to purchasing cars that are not roadworthy. Vehicles are overpriced.
