This is by far the most trustworthy online marketplace I’ve ever used I ordered two cds sellers were quick to respond and very friendly customer service exactly like it should be!

Of course like with any marketplace make shure to be selective with sellers and choose ones with lots of positive reviews.

A very underrated application to buy and sell music and an incredible music database always a pleasure to use this app

I don't doubt the negative reviews

But my experience has been great so far, I'm very into quite niche noise and dsbm music.
Discogs has been pretty great for tracking down rare or hard to come by/out of print releases

So far only had one purchase where the seller didn't actually have the album, but I was refunded same day..

Decline in Quality and High Fees

The concept of enshittification, often referred to as platform decay, describes how two-sided online services diminish in quality over time. Initially, providers offer quality products to attract users, but gradually, they compromise that quality to favor business clients, ultimately leading to a decline in services for both users and businesses to boost short-term profits. A notable example of this is a certain platform where I previously sold records fairly. Now, the excessive fees and mandatory use of a specific payment service make it hardly worthwhile. For instance, after selling a record for £7.58, only £4.96 ended up in my account, resulting in a staggering 34.56% taken in fees. It's quite disappointing, especially since the platform's success relies heavily on its user base. Another marketplace has become a more cost-effective alternative for selling music after eliminating seller fees.

Discogs: More Than Just a Music Store

Discogs shouldn't be labeled simply as a music store. It serves as the largest music database globally, encompassing every music release across various genres, complete with extensive details. Individuals can sell CDs, vinyl, and cassettes from their personal collections, but this does not define Discogs as a traditional music store.

Discogs: A Music Database, Not a Store

It's important to clarify that Discogs isn't a music store, despite its classification. It's the largest music database, featuring every music release worldwide across all genres. Individuals can sell CDs, vinyl, and cassettes from their personal collections, but that doesn’t categorize it as a store.

Caution: Disappointing Experience

I wanted to share my extremely negative experience with this so-called "company." It seems like there's just one person managing everything. Don't count on any customer support; sellers can leave negative feedback even if you don't complete a transaction. You also can't give feedback to sellers, making it very unfair. If issues arise with your order, don't expect any assistance—you'll be left to handle it alone while the platform profits.

Never Using This Platform Again

I will not return to this platform. I ordered an album from a seller but never received it after waiting over a month. I tried to contact them, but no response.

Lack of Consumer Protection

If a seller provides a faulty or incomplete item, there's no recourse for refunds or support. I've tried using this site three times: one purchase went well, another had a seller who sent it to the wrong address but issued a refund, and the third had missing items with the seller refusing to cover return shipping. The site fails to protect your consumer rights. I strongly advise against using it; you risk getting scammed.

Negative Feedback from Sellers is Unfair

It's unjust that sellers can leave negative feedback in retaliation. I paid immediately, but the seller sent a cheaper version of the item and then wanted me to cover return shipping for a partial refund. I refused, as it was not my fault. The seller even wished me a terrible Thanksgiving in messages. They left negative feedback on the last possible day. After years of using this platform, I’m switching to another.

Full of Scammers and No Support

This site is filled with scammers and lacks any customer support. If you make a purchase, hope that the seller is reliable, as there’s no help available from the platform.
