As a lifelong music junkie, I've explored a lot of websites that catalog music. Most are spotty and incomplete in obvious and glaring ways. Discogs is the best I've found, in terms of having complete and accurate discographies. You won't find a more vast collection of releases, at least I haven't found one. On the down side, large artist discographies can be somewhat jumbled and disorganized. And release years aren't always correct (it seems many contributors are confusing year of copyright with year of release). Also, the focus of the userbase is much more towards the collecting of music rather than the appreciation of it. So those who want to talk about the actual music are clearly outnumbered by those who are more interested in the collectability of various pressings and re-issues.
