Just spent $1000 on refurbished…

Just spent $1000 on refurbished computer and it arrived today. Unfortunately cannot use because HDMI ports will not accept and HDMI cord . Tried chatting in but they aren’t there. So here I sit with an unusable computer! Update- business contacted me promptly this morning to let me know my computer does not have HDMI ports! I am the idiot for not ordering a computer that actually has HDMI ports. They are a great company, just not recommended for non techie senior citizens. You live and learn!

They’re highly knowledgeable

They’re highly knowledgeable. Customer service was very helpful. I had a refund situation and they were very adequate and quick about it. Also, they have really great products. I would shop here again.

Eve and Tim at the Parmer Lane location are great

I took my Dell desktop computer to Discount Electronics on Parmer Lane, because I couldn't restart it. Each time I rebooted, it got an error, and Windows diagnostics couldn't find the problem. Eve and Tim investigated and found the point where the reboot process was failing, and showed me how to fix it, using the F12 button to get to the screen where I needed to change one of the settings. They didn't charge me anything for their time, even though my computer was no longer under warranty. They were very kind and helpful, and I plan to continue buying my electronic products from them. Five stars!

Terrible Customer Service....just terrible service

Terrible Customer Service. Ordered two monitors and was told the HDMI cables came with the order. But I needed longer cables and I was going to buy them at the pick up store. I got there and the two guys working the front desk were adamant that HDMI cables were extra. Not to mention the monitors do not come boxed. I then drive back home after getting HDMI cables at Best Buy (much better choice), only to find out the cable slots on the monitors are display cables not HDMI. But this experience only cost me $220. Never again support the local when Best Buy has way better customer service. So back to BB to exchange the cables....Thanks for wasting so much of my time.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company. Their customer service is the worst of any company I have ever worked with and their products are WAY over priced. I bought a Dell refurbished computer and Discount charged $699.00. The same NEW computer at Dell was only $50.00 more. I also found the same refurbished computer at Blairtech for $399.99. So, Discount charged me $699.00, that is $300.00 more that Blairtech. Discount Electronics is a Fraud Company. They use deceitful tactics to cheat customers. Stay Away !!!!

Terrible Experience

Terrible Experience, Beware!I had a horrible experience with Discount Electronics. I bought a Dell laptop at a high price, and within two weeks it stopped working completely. It froze, then shut down and wouldn’t turn back on.When I called customer service, the representative was extremely rude and unprofessional. She refused my request for a refund and wouldn’t let me speak with a manager. She promised to send a replacement battery but never did. When I called again, she denied saying that, then finally sent a battery—but it was the wrong size.I ended up having to ship the laptop to their repair center. They replaced the battery and some other parts, but asked for my login password, which I was uncomfortable sharing. Just a couple of months later, the laptop started having the same issues again. When I asked for a refund or to take it to a local repair shop, they refused. I don’t feel safe sending my device back to them again, especially with personal and secure information on it.

Great selection, prices, service

My last three computers have been from Discount Electronics. Always a welcoming place to walk into as someone with very basic computer knowledge. Great selection and I think it's awesome they are giving second life to all these Electronics. This most recent trip to the north austin location Brandon helped me find an entry level gaming laptop and was nice about answering my questions. Always recommend DE

Patience and Matt were a great help in store. Patience with helping me to find the best computer for my needs, and answering my mountain of questions. At pickup, Matt was extremely helpful in answering the questions and showing how to get into Microsoft to adjust the firewall settings.
