Disappointing Experience with Card Activation

I applied for a new card and was accepted, but when I tried to use it weeks later, it was denied. Upon contacting support, I learned that my account had been closed due to an inability to verify my personal information. I inquired about the lack of notification and was informed that a letter was sent on October 23 and an email on October 24. While I did receive the email, it didn't mention the account closure; instead, it highlighted the benefits of using my new card. With a credit score over 800, I have always been truthful on my applications, so I'm puzzled as to why they couldn't reach out to verify the necessary details. As I said in the title: a frustrating experience.
