Booked a week-long charter of Yepa II (Bali 5.4 catamaran, Palm Cay Marina, Nassau) through Dream Yacht Charter. Booking #911269353, March 15–22, 2026. I would not recommend this company.
Pre-existing safety failure. Mid-charter, the rudder completely failed during rough weather. We had no proper tools aboard and I was forced to make a dangerous dinghy run in deteriorating conditions to borrow tools from a stranger. My crew and I spent an entire day repairing a rudder system on a charter boat — while anchored with two frightened families, including children, aboard. When we returned to base, staff confirmed one of the rudder bolts had been sheared off before we took possession of the vessel. Dream Yacht handed over a boat with a known structural failure. When we called for help, the response from base was slow and largely unhelpful.
Written promises not honored. On March 10, 2026, Dream Yacht Customer Care confirmed in writing that the middle starboard cabin would have twin beds — critical for our children. The actual cabin had a double. That's a written guarantee they didn't keep.
Non-functional equipment. The fixed VHF radio at the helm was completely non-functional — a serious safety issue, especially during an emergency. Solar panels non-functional. TV listed on the website was absent. Over half the cockpit cushions were missing. The boat had empty beer cans in the helm locker at turnover.
No real resolution. Filed a formal complaint requesting a full refund. Received a generic acknowledgment from Customer Care saying it was "forwarded to the team." Nine days later — nothing.
This wasn't just a disappointing vacation. This was a safety failure. If you're chartering with children or in open water, think carefully before trusting this company.
