had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Drivalia. I booked a car through Booking. included full insurance in the booking. However, when I arrived to collect the car, I was told that my insurance was completely void because the booking was made under “Chris” while my driving licence says “Christopher.” This minor difference in name — which is very common and should be easily understood — was enough for them to refuse my original booking terms and force me to pay an extra £120 for insurance on the spot. There was no warning during the booking process that such a minor name discrepancy could cause this issue, and no flexibility or understanding shown at the desk. It felt like a technicality used to upsell their own insurance rather than provide fair customer service. For a company dealing with international and domestic travelers, this level of rigidity and lack of transparency is unacceptable. I won’t be using them again, and I’d advise others to be very careful — make sure the name on your booking exactly matches your ID, or you could end up paying a lot more than expected
