Sharing my experience renting from Drivalia in the UK so others can be cautious.
I originally booked a Kia Sportage for 4 days for £206. At the counter, staff pushed an upgrade and told me it was offered at a “50% discount.” I agreed, but later discovered (after receiving the invoice by email a few hours later) that I had been charged the full £50 per day. A “Family Vacation Pack” costing £72 per day was also added without being clearly explained. The total price jumped from £206 to £678.
When returning the car at London Luton Airport, I followed the drop-off instructions given by staff, but later received a parking charge for stopping there.
Overall, several charges were not clearly explained at the counter, and I only realised the full cost after leaving with the car. I recommend carefully checking all add-ons and asking for a full written breakdown before accepting any upgrades to not be taken advantage off.

I rented a van from the Edinburgh agency and had taken out additional insurance through an intermediary agency. I immediately felt that they were trying to sell me their own insurance.
When I gave my payment card for the security deposit, they claimed that only my last name was on it and not my first name. The person at the counter pretended to send a message to their manager and then told me they couldn’t accept it.
They explained that if I wanted to get my van without using my bank card, my only option was to take… their insurance, which cost me €500.
Unacceptable.

I use Drivalia all the time. I find the service very good and the pricing very reasonable.
I would like to see the website sorted where you add details in advance. I’d also like to see the different offices connected so you don’t have to fill forms all the time if you are a frequent user.
Apart from this, a great service.
This is the worst car rental company.
Because I’ve been living in the UK for over a year, I had to retake the driving test to renew my licence here. My Colombian licence has been valid for more than 15 years, but since I’ve lived here for so long, I had to follow UK regulations.
Complying with those rules cost me over £200, because they didn’t accept my Colombian licence and my UK licence is less than a year old.
They take people’s money, charging for insurance they NEVER USE, and their customer service line is extremely rude.
Do NOT rent from them.
Booked with Drivalia through Zest Car Rental. Our flight was cancelled and we arrived 8 hours later than expected to collect the car, I sent regular updates via email direct to Drivalia, who I had been liaising with regularly via email, to keep them informed of when to expect us. Upon arrival we were told our (pre-paid) car had been given away, and to pick up a car we would have to pay a GBP695 late fee and higher rate of insurance to get a deal that would enable us an upgrade for a car they had available (given ours had been given away). The staff were helpful but clearly the rules of this company are corrupt and aim to bleed you dry of money when you are in a sticky situation.
Zero stars would be given if possible.
I have never had a worse experience when trying to hire a car and I have probably hired cars in 50 different countries. Ridiculous amount of files required, hidden charges and rude staff. Utility bills, Bank statements etc etc. things you don’t think you will need to hire a car for 2 days. Slowest service I have ever witnessed and when asked (after 40+ minutes of waiting) where the car was staff became aggressively defensive. Will never use again, I’d rather walk.
These people have always treated me with 100% respect.especially bob who seems to run the place on his own..I’d always come back here..customer service is very important to me.people who go the extra mile to help are essentially assets to any business
