I have rented vehicles from Drivalia twice recently, and on both occasions I was charged approximately €280 for very minor cosmetic scratches, specifically on the wing mirror. On the second rental, there was also visible damage to the car door that was not recorded on the inspection sheet at pickup, which I photographed at the time.
The alleged mirror damage was very small and cosmetic, yet the company applied a large charge without providing any repair invoice or proof of actual repair costs. Staff were unhelpful when questioned, and the return process took place off-airport, making it more difficult to verify the vehicle’s condition.
These experiences suggest a pattern of aggressive charging for minor damage and inconsistent inspections. I strongly recommend that anyone renting from Drivalia document all pre-existing damage with photos and videos, and consider using larger, airport-based rental companies if possible.
