We have shopped at Dufresne Furniture for many years as well as our family members. In October 2024 we purchased a mattress and also 2 recliners, the mattress came within days and we’re happy with it. They told us the recliners would be 6 to 8 weeks before delivery. On January 2nd we called to check On the delivery date and they said it would be at least another eight weeks. At that point we said, please cancel our order as we don’t want to wait any longer. We called the manager at the Nairn store Winnipeg and Janet said she would work with us, but then said if you cancel you will be charged $720 for restocking. We agreed to purchase more furniture and appliances, not all at the same time, but in the future. We need new sofa and appliances but not all at once. The chairs were not finished, so why wait 16 weeks or more for delivery. We were not told when we purchased the recliners that we would have to wait more than four months. So she refused to cancel the order, and when we called back in February Janet was very rude to us and said you have to pay for cancelling And that she is going to charge our Fairstone account. Today I got a notice that she charged us $801. We feel this is outrageous! A big company like Dufresne should have a little more leniency and better customer service!! We are seniors on pension and feel like we were ripped off and treated horribly. Our family will never shop there again and will let our friends know that Dufresne do not care about their customers!
