V8 Absolute, to replace/upgrade our old V7 (V7 purple served us well for many years.Highly recommended, would give 5 stars if wall storage for ALL tools was included & if payment was taken immediately. Upgrades for us will be:-Increased battery/running time (V8 40 mins). -HEPA/exhaust/post filter, which is a must! (Our old V7 does not have post filter & had issues...particularly after bin being just emptied). -2 motorised floor heads, addition being the new Soft Roller Cleanerhead, excellent tool addition! (Normal motorised floor head brush will work on all floor types).-Angled pipe attachment.-New 3 stage led battery status indicator.Negatives: -Orders placed out of hours/weekends payment will not be taken from card straight away, not until order is being processed...caused me cash flow issue on joint account & initial order being cancelled by Dyson. -No wall mount for new extra motor floor head (i need to buy aftermarket). Standard tool storage is only for two small accessories on docking station.-No mini soft dusting brush with V8.-New "Star" Prefilter, seems like it will have issues later, (time will tell) not as snug a fit or easy to remove as previous type...however not an expensive item (even genuine. Though washable, no harm to replace every year anyway, so probably a moot point.Summary: Dyson highly recommended in terms of reliability, build quality, ease of use, battery life & suction. Availability of parts, accessories & filters. Decent/plenty of attachments & new "Soft Roller Cleanerhead" for hard floors an excellent addition to line up.Dyson website & ordering straight forward enough.Delivery included via An Post & extremely prompt. Nicely boxed.Docking Station great for ease of use, exact same as our old V7 one, so proven reliable tech! (Old one still working well, despite being used multiple times a day for many years).Cost obviously a factor. I researched other stick vacuums (now some real contenders!), but stuck with Dyson due to €100 Black Friday discount & experience with the V7 stick vacuum & Supersonic Hairdryer (wife says hairdryer best ever). Plus i already had a docking station wall mounted & now have spare tools/tube.Dyson stick works best if used daily. From experience, I recommend getting a spare of each filter (to allow drying time).Previous/replacement:Our old V7 Purple served us well for 6ys+. Only replaced with V8 now, as motor head stopped recently & battery now a good bit shy of it's 20min runtime. Plus wanted HEPA/post filter. Tube did bend a couple of yrs ago & I replaced with telescopic aftermarket. Flap/door in collection bin to suction tube did disappear in the first few months (Mrs was emptying) I see the one on V8 is quite delicate, so don't be rough when unblocking the bin inlet!Our V7 still going & will move into the shed for semi retirement/light duty as a car vac.
