Eargo 8 hearing devices are worth the upgrade…

I received my Eargo 8 hearing devices 30 days ago and have been extremely impressed with the advances since the Eargo 7 model. I started using the Eargo NEO in 2019 and upgraded to the Eargo 7 in 2023. With each generation, there have been noticeable improvements in battery technology, durability, and software. The Eargo 8 is a step-wise improvement in all three areas. This charging case is a huge improvement. The case has a hinged, attached lid, and the hearing devices now securely “click” into place. That provides assurance that the devices are properly seated for charging. The case also holds a charge for a much great length of time. I have gone for up to three days and it still indicates a full charge. Older versions had to be plugged in every night. Battery life of the hearing devices is also excellent. I can wear my Eargo 8’s 12 hours or so and the battery life holds-up.The hearing devices seem more rugged and durable. I like the new trumpet design and that is a better fit for me. The amplifier caps are more durable than those on the Eargo 7. The Eargo App has steadily improved over the years. I use the four different settings regularly and occasionally adjust for noise reduction and volume control. I also attended the Eargo training online seminar and that was useful. The presenter was professionally qualified, spoke clearly and maintained a good pace. I learned 2-3 new best practices. For me, the tone and clarity are the biggest improvements. I do not know how much of this is due to improved electronics or the customizable software. I like the sound match feature in the Eargo App. It mimics audiometric testing and that could be one of the reasons I am getting exceptional performance. Whatever it is, it works. I went to a Lyle Lovett concert at the Atlanta Symphony Hall two days ago and the audio was simply incredible.
