The visit was initiated by the company following a cold call and was advertised as a free survey with no sales pressure. However, that was not the case, as a system costing around £12,000 was proposed due to observed severe damp issues, though the rationale and feasibility of this system were hard to accept. The insistence on both householders being present at the survey seemed unnecessary. The sales process deteriorated with a follow-up call for another inspection that was redundant. I later reached out for the detailed quote I had requested, which is still pending. The lack of communication suggests this was an over-specification and an unjustifiable expense. A waste of everyone’s time.
