We have rent two cars. Suppose to be Mercedes Vito. At the airport there was no Mercedes. A Fiat Talento and a VW Caravelle. Especially the VW was a downgrade and not an upgrade for our reserved Mercedes. It is a cheaper car. Both cars were hit on at least 12 places. Several damaged places were not indicated on the form I had to sign. We had to go back to the office to have those spots indicated on the form. And then still, on our trip we discovered that also the roof was damaged. How can one check that at the airport? The cars are more than 2 meters high? I am happy that after returning the cars at the airport they did not charge us for the damage not indicated on the form. But during our holiday we felt uncomfortable about that. On the fifth day both drivers of the Fiat discovered that there was something wrong with the clutch pedal. Sometimes it did not come up. One time out of twenty I estimate. Quite dangerous when you drive in a tunnel. So we called for assistance. We had to wait about 4 hours in the cold before a truck from a garage came and a taxi to pick us up. There was no substitute car for us. Europcar promised us they would bring a new car. But only at around 13:00 hour the next day a substitute car arrived. By then we had to rush to the airport from Vinuesa to Madrid to catch our plane. So the nine of us lost at least half a day of our holiday due to the bad technical state of the Fiat of Europcar. A compensation to us would be appropriate, we think. Thank you very much.
