I want to start with the good; every agent we had with our local office was amazing, thorough and lovely and great with the pets. And the bi-monthly pest service itself seemed to work perfectly.
It was NOT worth the 6-months long ordeal I went through dealing with their customer care team and billing. We agreed to have them do an exclusion service and an insulation service last fall, since we trusted them. It was expensive, so we secured financing. Upon the exclusion service being initially completed, we were told to hold on releasing the financing funds until insulation was also complete. And that's where things turned into a mess.
For the next few months, agents kept finding signs of pest life in our house post-exclusion, fixing holes/other areas, and then coming back every other week. The insulation service kept getting pushed until no signs of life were found (this was genuinely fine with us, we really appreciated the thoroughness), and financing expired. And so even after being assured MULTIPLE times by customer service that there would be notes in our file about the balance not being due, they sent our balance to a collections agency.
I called EcoShield very upset, and they apologized and said it would be taken care of. And then I didn't hear from them again for 2 months, so I called...and was told our account was shut down for non-payment. They apologized and reinstated it, but at that point said we had 0 balance since the balance was with collections. I called the collections agency and they said they had no balance due for me. At this point, I was reasonably sure that I could have just...not paid anyone and never been caught, but we weren't trying to evade payment or deal with this years down the line, so I did the responsible thing.
I called EcoShield again (this was hours of calls over months) and was told I had no balance, but this time I asked to be transferred to accounts receivable, where they demanded to know if I was ready to pay my balance. In the midst of all this over the months, I emailed their customer care email twice and got no reply ever.
We ended up settling the debt outright-but we are never using this company for a single service again. I've never been so frustrated with a service before in my life.
