Title: Intended to book directly with airline but routed via third party – booking difficult to access
I attempted to book what I believed was a direct Ryanair flight via the Ryanair website. At no point did I intentionally choose to book through a third-party provider. However, the booking was processed via eDreams.
The interface was busy and not particularly transparent, and I do not recall clearly selecting a third-party option. It was not obvious to me at the time that I was no longer booking directly with the airline.
Payment has been taken and I have received confirmation including an airline reference number. However, when attempting to retrieve the booking directly on the Ryanair website using that reference, the system states the booking cannot be found, and the app enters a verification loop.
This creates unnecessary stress, particularly when travel is work-related. There appears to be a lack of clarity around how third-party bookings are handled and how customers can reliably access their reservations directly with the airline.
The booking journey would benefit from clearer separation between airline direct bookings and third-party providers. I would also be concerned about how confusing this process might be for less digitally confident users.
I would appreciate clear confirmation that the airline PNR is fully active and accessible.
There are also huge numbers of adverts on the edreams website and one has to view another advert before being able to access different components of the booking which is not customer friendly
