Over 4 Years of Delays, Excuses, and Unfinished Work – Avoid EDSS ConstructionI hired EDSS Construction Ltd in early 2021 for a full property renovation. Over four years later, the job is still unfinished. Despite paying a substantial amount of money for labour and materials, I’ve been left with an incomplete property, ongoing stress, and now face tens of thousands in additional costs to get the work done by new contractors.Throughout the project, the owner would disappear for long periods, miss deadlines, and ignore communication. Each time he resurfaced, he offered new excuses and hollow promises to “complete everything soon.” After years of this, I eventually formally requested to terminate the contract and a refund for the many unfinished jobs. In response they’ve suddenly claimed I owed £80,000 for unpaid labour and VAT — a figure never mentioned before — followed by threats of legal action. This felt like a clear attempt to intimidate me and shift attention from the fact that they failed to deliver what was paid for.Even more troubling, this isn’t a one-time issue. The owner previously operated under another company: SIMVIK Ltd. He has made efforts to erase this history, but as we all know, some things stay online forever. I strongly advise anyone considering hiring him to Google “SIMVIK Ltd review” — you’ll find other customers with similar complaints. I’m not allowed to post examples. This is a pattern — not a one-off mistake. The picture he has used on his company websites background is not even his own work- it’s my next door neighbours house which was carried out by another builder. This further more shows his dishonesty and incompetence. I can prove this if anyone is interested can contact me. He has also posted pictures of the interior of my house online without my permission. Both of these actions will be reported in due course. Whilst he has seemingly garnered positive reviews over the last few years I assure you this has all been to my detriment. With promises of anything to try and get your money. If you’re thinking about hiring EDSS Construction don’t. Save yourself the financial loss, the wasted years, and the stress. Check the facts first — Google the owner, read the reviews, and protect yourself.

Loft conversion
Converting lofts into usable living spaces are one of the most common residential developments in the UK nowadays, and it is one of the specialties of EDSS Construction Ltd.
Adequately planned and executed loft conversion to your property does not only increase the value of your property but also adds add a whole new look to your property. Most interestingly loft conversions are the cheapest investment on extending the available living space in your house than rear/side extensions or basement extensions. Therefore, loft extensions are the most recommended means of extending your living area in terms of both costs and looks of your house.
Loft conversion can serve multiple purposes according to your custom needs. You can opt to make add an additional bedroom to your house, for children or guests or a luxury master bedroom with en-suite shower-room, or a disturbance free work space for your home office.
And most interestingly, we can carry out your loft conversions with the least disruption to your everyday life, while living in the same property.
When it comes to any type of extensions to your living space involving any structural changes to your property, including loft conversion, you must be aware of the planning permissions you got and/or require. In some cases, not only the planning permission but the party wall agreements are critical in making decisions about your loft conversions or extensions, as in case of attached properties you share the same building structure with your neighbours. These permissions can take a long time; therefore, it is important for you to know and plan that what extending exemptions you may already got, and do you really go beyond those exemptions in extending your property. The standard Loft Conversions, where you already have not extended your property, normally doesn’t require planning permissions.
Extension
Adding an extension to your home for improved living space suiting to your needs is a very good idea, if executed in a proper way. It adds value to your property and comfort to your living. So, if you have not yet done your house extensions, and you are looking into extend your house to the back or side, Edss Construction Ltd can be your perfect choice. We are specialized in home improvements building and interiors with over 15 years of experience in the UK.
House extensions planned sensibly can improve the aesthetics of your property and can certainly provide you with more space to your home. If you are desperate for a larger kitchen, living room, need a sun room, a home office or a study for your kids, house extension is the best idea to pursue. A purposeful extension can provide you with a potentially double kitchen, extended dining area, or double of the living room space, or even an extra room in your house, or an additional toilet, or shower room. You can extend your single-storey rear extension by almost three metres in case of an attached house, or by four metres in case of a detached house, even without planning permission, and can be up to six metres and eight metres based on your property specifications; however, it requires consultation with neighbours and local authority. Therefore, house extensions can sufficiently increase space in your covered area and so is the value of your property, should you want to sell or let in the future.
