My daughter used EF Tours for her school educational trip, and the beginning of the trip was already a complete disaster for the group. EF Tours booked a group of 36 students and a teacher on a flight with only a one-hour layover in Europe. The company should know that any layover in Europe requires going through immigration, so a one-hour layover is simply not enough for a large group.
As a result, the group had to be separated onto different flights, and some students even needed an additional layover in Europe just to reach their final destination.
At the end of the tour, EF Tours did not ensure that the return flight was properly arranged—especially considering the issues on the outbound trip. The group almost missed their return flight again because the airline, Lufthansa, had cancelled their tickets.
To make matters worse, some of the students’ luggage was lost, and some of the recovered luggage was damaged.
Despite all of this, EF Tours’ only response was that there is travel insurance and that a claim can be filed. This is unacceptable because they should have known from the start that a one-hour layover in Europe—especially for a large group—would not work.
I am extremely disappointed with this agency, and I hope the school will reconsider using them in the future.
