I bought a hedge trimmer in February 2021. I noticed the blades were quite loose and moved up and down, but the tool still functioned. Upon inspection, I found the issue was a broken clamp plate—the long metal piece that holds the blades in place. I returned it to the retailer to claim warranty repair (5-year warranty). After a few days, I was informed that the claim was denied, as the company deemed it normal wear from use. My concern is that the clamp plate isn’t a moving part; it should maintain the blades' contact and stability. There shouldn't be wear on it, and it should last as long as the tool itself. The breakage seems to result from metal fatigue, yet the company refused to repair it under warranty. I will not purchase another product from this brand.
