I am beyond disappointed with my recent experience flying Emirates from Dubai to London. For an airline that markets itself as “family friendly” and charges a premium, the reality was the complete opposite.First of all, Emirates is absolutely not baby or toddler friendly. When I booked, I was promised a special toddler meal. Onboard? Nothing of the sort. The only “baby food” available was a tiny apple purée clearly intended for six-month-old infants. For a toddler, that’s unacceptable especially on a 7.5 hour flight. How can an airline of this size and reputation fail to provide even the most basic meal option for children? To make matters worse, the cabin crew were shockingly unhelpful and unfriendly. My baby got whiny (as babies naturally do on long flights), and instead of showing patience or kindness, the air hostesses looked visibly annoyed. Their expressions said it all, miserable, irritated, and clearly uninterested in being there. They made zero effort to make the situation easier or offer support. For the price people pay to fly with Emirates, the level of service was ridiculous and insulting. Other airlines manage to provide proper kids’ meals, supportive staff, and at least a shred of empathy for parents travelling with little ones. Emirates completely failed in every respect. If you’re traveling with a baby or toddler, I strongly advise avoiding Emirates. They are not family-friendly, their service is appalling, and their staff need serious training in both customer service and basic compassion.
