As frequent long-haul travelers, we expected much more from our recent Business Class journeys from Malaysia to the UK via Dubai. At the lounge in KL, there was only one chef at the egg counter, which resulted in a long wait for an omelette. I requested two fried eggs sunny side up, but the manager told me to sit down and they would be brought to me. By the time I finished buttering my toast, the chef was still working on the omelette, leaving my toast cold and soggy, prompting me to cancel my order. On our flight to Dubai, the mezze was bland and tasteless. During a delay in Dubai, I asked for a drink while watching a film, but was told I could only have it after takeoff. The mini bottles of water at my seat were all warm. After our soup starter, the empty bowls sat untouched for 25 minutes. When my steak tenderloin and broccoli arrived, it was overcooked and dry. The broccoli resembled a puree, collapsing into mush when I attempted to pick it up. The salad was minimal, consisting of a few leaves and a couple of tomatoes. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we will definitely think twice about our future travel choices.
