I was really looking forward to working with empower. I received a phone call to discuss my goals but they were very pushy to get me to join and I felt pressured. They suggested a 4 or 6 month membership. Luckily I chose to do 4 months. I got sent my meal and exercise plans, the meals I got sent were very generic and bland, a friend of mine had used them too and had lovely meals compared to the meal plans that I got. They post recipes on their Instagram which you are much better using. I was not happy with the meal plan and immediately wanted to cancel my membership, but as I had accessed them I had to pay for the 4 month contract which was about £650 which I will never get back. As I opened their plan to see if it was for me, I wasn’t allowed to cancel and had to pay the whole fee which is very unfair. I tried to do the plan, the exercises were good but the recipes were just boring and you have to send pictures in underwear to track progress which I was not comfortable with. I’m really disappointed as you should be able to see the plan they have for you and decide you want to cancel. But no they took £600+ from me which I will never get back! The plan is also meant to be personalised. As I a shift worker and a student working 12+ hour days and not having loads of money to spend on food was not considered. I opted for mostly veggie recipes which were all filled with tofu and just tasteless. The breakfasts were the same each week and after stating I tried overnight oats and didn’t like it they kept putting it as most of my breakfast ideas.
