I started my fitness journey alone for a couple years before joining Empower. I joined Empower during the pandemic lockdowns because I had gained weight and dieting was not helping me lose weight. I felt like I did not understand what my body needed to get back into shape. Within the first couple months with Emma, I dropped 6kgs (and counting). Despite this, I still get to eat chocolate and pizza. Emma taught me healthier ways to incorporate these into my diet so that I can have a BALANCED diet of healthy foods and the foods I love as well. She’s also constantly coming up with new healthier recipes for the typical “junk” food cravings (like healthier recipes for cakes, french toast, ramen, etc). This means our meal plans never get boring, and she will include things that we’re craving for as well. I was brought up in Asia and I absolutely love ramen instant noodles, so Emma gave me a healthy recipe to satisfy that craving. Her coaching style is supportive and helpful. She never scolds you for going off-plan but instead she will give you tips on how to get back on track quickly. My relationship with food has become so good since I’ve been with Emma. I don’t feel guilty for treating myself from time to time, I don’t restrict any food type from my diet, and most importantly, I feel happy with the food I eat. I’ve also learnt so much about nutrition and how to fuel myself.Not only is Emma’s coaching really good and supportive, she’s also very flexible. She’s given me both home and gym workouts based on whether I could go to the gym. She gives advice and tips on building better habits and routines as well. When my financial situation deteriorated, she was flexible and offered solutions to either freeze my Empower subscription or offer me a discount which I could continue to afford. Even while my subscription was frozen, Emma would message me once in a while to make sure I was okay and doing well. I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed my fitness journey since I’ve joined Empower. I’ve seen results while being so happy and excited about the food I’m eating. I feel confident in my skin, and I feel content with the habits and routine I have incorporated into my life. Emma is honestly more like a life coach rather than only a fitness trainer.
