My companion and I began a two week vacation in Italy, which ended on day 4 when she slipped in the shower, dislocating a hip and causing severe damage to her knee. After 2 visits to a trauma center, EMS was recommended and it was the best decision we could have made. Within 12 hrs of completing paper work and payment we were being escorted from the hotel room by 3 trauma personnel to a private jet. It truly was an ICU in the sky, constantly monitoring her and making sure she was as comfortable as could be. They stayed with her all the way to her hospital bed in the states. Thanks to the care she received, her surgeon is confident she will make a complete, although lengthy, recovery.
