i purchased an engine and paid $700 more for it because I thought the warrantee was worth the extra. the engine came and was in the process of throwing a rod. I filed a claim and received a different engine with some damage to it. I asked for instructions for the install warrantee. I had installed the first one myself. They told me to send them an estimate from a certified shop, which I did, for $1500. In about a month I was refunded $440 for the install. Lots of emails went unanswered. I finally got ahold of warrantee department and was told, "we use the standard time book amount of 8.5 hrs. at $50/hr." So, I was confused as to why they needed an estimate if they were going to use a general time study rate. Had I known that they were not going to pay the cost of install, I would have done it myself. by not being clear, I lost over $1500 between the first install and paying a shop for the second one. Not very happy about the process. they could have just said, we allot 8.5 hrs. here is your check for $440 and I could have done it myself.Bottom line, not really a warrantee, more like a subsidy.
