During my speaking assessment, there were ongoing issues on the examiner’s end. It was only after multiple attempts that I finally completed the test, which was delayed significantly. Despite these challenges, the provider considered everything acceptable and the test continued. The next day, during the listening, reading, and writing sections, I faced a technical problem with my mouse. I quickly informed the invigilator and followed her instructions. Although I explained I could resolve the issue promptly and wanted to stay on the platform, I was told to leave the test environment. I fixed the problem within minutes as instructed, yet my test was cancelled, and I could not continue. It’s hard to understand why prolonged technical issues on the examiner’s side were tolerated while a minor issue on my part—resolved swiftly and in line with their guidance—led to cancellation. This raises serious concerns about consistency and whether candidates can rely on the instructions given during the exam.
