Had a courtesy car from them through insurer after someone ran into my car.
Plus points are they sorted a car real quick.
They gave me a bmw ix as a comparable alternative to my Tesla model y. It isn’t. It’s so far off, and compares so poorly it’s ridiculous.
The bmw is some crazy fever dream version of what an electric car is for people who’re scared of the idea. For regular electric car drivers it drives you daft.
Range is poor at 200m vs the 350+ I’m used to. Every time I fire it up it’s lost more range. The screen, menus and general “system” is a broken, janky mess. You can’t get properly signed into the bmw profile, so your home charger and octopus electricity supplier can’t manage the car properly.
The stupid “engine” sounds really put into perspective what nonsense this is. The parking sensors don’t come on automatically. The reverse out of a spot feature is really “reverse into a stupid position”. You fight poorly implemented features all the time.
Enterprise, hear this loud and clear. This car is no comparable substitute for a Tesla. Get some Teslas in!
Tried to contact enterprise about swapping it. Got advised to phone them - haven’t got time for that! It’s 2026 not 1986.
Once I got through the guy didn’t really understand the problem, sadly couldn’t offer a Tesla as alternative.
Will be using an insurer who uses a different rental car company in future.
