I rented a car for ten days in France with full coverage. Two days later, I received a parking fine, which I had actually paid but forgot to display on the dashboard (it seems in France, you still need to do that, even when the machine records your plate number). I contacted the company explaining the situation, stating I had all the tickets and that the fine could easily be contested. I received no response for three days, then was informed that the fine had already been paid, with an additional 35€ fee for their administrative costs. If only they had responded before paying... But of course, that's profit for them. The fine can still be contested, but I will never see that 35€ again. P.S.: The parking fine was 25€.
