I rented a house from the Bolton branch for 18 months, I had to chase and chase for things to be fixed and I was charged an extortionate amount of rent. After being told it wouldn’t be increased upon renewal of course they tried to increase by £600 a year. They allowed contractors to turn up unannounced on a Sunday morning who did not fix the issue and to be honest looked like they’d been pulled from a backstreet whilst also stinking of alcohol. He then poured fairy liquid along the outside wall of the house. I ended up with a cardboard bath panel and their own contractors told them the boiler needs to be replaced, of course the house was rented out immediately without it being fixed after I stressed there were so many issues with the property. They left me with caved in fence panels for 5 months after a storm and damp on the walls in a bedroom they knew my 7 year old had. But apparently they can’t step in when the landlord takes 6 months + to fix something. I had 3 small children in the property and the lack of communication was beyond unbelievable. Not to mention they clearly didn’t DBS check the contractors coming out and let anyone turn up at the door at any time. Emails were sent to me at 4:30pm on a Friday so they knew they did not have to respond until Monday. I have never felt so robbed in all my life for giving not only a terrible landlord but a terrible company thousands upon thousands for something that their contractors called ‘a house of horrors.’ Don’t give them a penny.
