On a recent holiday driving through Europe, I bought vignettes for every country that required one. After my return I received a PCN a couple of months later, for not having a valid vignette for driving on the toll roads in Hungary.I checked and I had bought a vignette, with the correct registration details of my car. Further examination showed they had entered the country code as RO (not UK), which I presumed at the time was the country I was arriving from. It was their clerical error, for which I now have to pay.As far as I was concerned I had done everything correctly; bought a vignette and checked the registration, which is all that is required in every other country.I have appealed providing evidence, but heard nothing back, unsurprisingly. Under duress I have now paid, but reading other peoples reviews, I will not be surprised if they claim I haven't paid. This is literally highway robbery - at least Richard Turpin wore a mask! (I had to change the name because of inappropriate language)
