Gary’s a great instructor, teaches to a very high standard so nothing in the test comes at a surprise. He makes you feel at ease and is very patient. He never shouts at the mistakes you make and instead talks you through the mistake and how to correct it. Most importantly he adapts to how you learn, if there is something you’re struggling with, he will find a different way to teach it. Would 100% recommend!

Ellison's have a great app to help you easily track your progress with your instructor to see how you're getting on! I worked with Gary who always promptly updated my app after each lesson with feedback and things we'd be working on next which was extremely helpful for me. Gary was the perfect instructor for me and I'd recommend him to anyone, he made each lesson fun and interesting and always focused more on how to drive safely rather than just how to pass my driving test!
I have had such a good experience with Ellisons, specifically due to my teacher Stan. He made everything that I was dreading with driving much more approachable/achievable and he was always so positive. I could not recommend Ellisons enough to anyone who wants an enjoyable, calm and engaging time when learning to drive.
i learnt how to drive with kate yarde and passed first time! she was always understanding and such a great instructor. i truly would not have wanted to learn with anyone else. so reliable, patient and actually made lessons fun & enjoyable!
I worked with Steve Patterson from Ellison's School of Motoring, on an automatic transmission vehicle. I passed my first exam and with zero faults! Steve prepared me for the practical exam, gave me honest feedback, and stressed the importance of safe and defensive driving. Steve was calm, discerning, and enjoyable to work with. Amazing customer service right off the bat, in helping me find an instructor quite quickly as I was new to Taunton!I can't recommend Ellisons' instructors highly enough: my instructor Paul was always so accommodating and eager to help me find lesson slots that worked for me despite my erratic schedule. He is a very kind, attentive and supportive instructor who always knew the right way to help me fix my mistakes and improve my driving skills to enable me to pass!He was always keen to tailor lessons to what I wanted to practice: even when I didn't necessarily volunteer it, Paul would intuitively pick up on what I needed to improve on and would tailor the routes we took to cover test routes whilst enabling me to practice parking and manoeuvring exercises.Paul and Ellisons' were amazing and I'm glad I chose them for my driving lessons!
