I paid $223 for “scratch-resistant” prescription readers at Target Optical—owned by Essilor Luxottica. Within a couple of uses they had a deep scratch—despite always being kept in their case. When I returned them, I was told my warranty had just expired (counted from purchase date, not delivery) and that replacement lenses would cost another $140.I’ve had cheaper glasses from Eyebobs, Warby Parker, and even Costco that have lasted for years without a single scratch. These did not. I won’t be buying glasses from Target Optical again.
