My experience taking the GRE at home was utterly unacceptable. The entire process was chaotic from the outset: it took 20 minutes just to set up, with constant camera adjustments, and then my exam was interrupted due to technical difficulties. The proctor halted me twice, claiming she could only see my hands typing. At one point, I was switched to a different proctor without any warning, forcing me to restart. By the end, I had to contact the proctor four times before she responded, and when I told her I was finished, her reply was simply, 'Oh, okay.' This situation was not only exhausting and poorly organized but also a major distraction from my goal of taking the GRE. I couldn't focus on the exam itself because I was too busy trying to meet the ever-changing demands of the proctor. The company must seriously improve how these at-home tests are managed—this was completely unacceptable. I strongly recommend taking the test in person until the at-home proctoring issues are addressed.
