My experience taking the GRE at home was incredibly frustrating. From the very beginning, the process was chaotic: setting up the administration took 20 minutes, with the camera having to be adjusted repeatedly, and then my exam unexpectedly dropped due to technical problems. The proctor interrupted me twice, stating she could only see my hands typing, and at one point, my proctor was changed without any notice, which forced me to restart. By the end, I had to reach out to the proctor four times before she finally responded, and when I informed her I was done, she simply replied, 'Oh, okay.' This whole experience was not only tiring and poorly organized but also a significant distraction from my primary goal: taking the GRE. I struggled to concentrate on the exam itself because all my attention was diverted to meeting the constantly shifting demands of the proctor. The company really needs to improve the administration of these at-home tests—this situation was simply unacceptable. I strongly advise taking the test in person until the issues with at-home proctoring are resolved.
