I would like to share my experience and warn the sellers about Etsy's current policies. It has become clear that the platform is adopting a strategy aimed at reducing the number of independent sellers under vague pretexts such as "noncompliance with creativity standards" This tightening coincides with a continuous increase in fees, placing sellers in a difficult position.
Most concerning are the indicators that the platform is entering as a direct competitor to sellers through its own affiliated stores, promoting goods as 'handmade' when the reality may be different. We also notice exceptional support for these stores in terms of reviews and reduced fees, while high fees are imposed on independent sellers. This automatically leads to higher prices for the buyer and pushes the platform's own stores as the more affordable option.
Etsy is no longer the supportive environment for projects that it markets itself to be instead, it has begun to act as an adversary and a competitor seeking to dominate the largest share of sales. I advise everyone to be cautious and not to rely entirely on this platform, which shows outward encouragement to sellers while hiding policies behind the scenes that serve only its own commercial interests.
