Don't waste your time! My spouse and I fondly remember traveling with this service as college students, but things have deteriorated significantly. While we could use our pass in Italy and Spain for multiple trips, it now requires a reservation almost every time! We just wanted the freedom to hop on a train at a moment's notice, but we had to reserve and pay for practically every journey. This may not seem like a big deal, but the app was terrible, charging exorbitant fees and often providing inaccurate information! This forced us to go to a station for every reservation, incurring additional fees. It would have been much simpler to forgo the pass and buy individual tickets as needed! Not worth the cost or the hassle!
