The response I received from the company after my two reviews, including one where they requested 'more information', was completely unhelpful. The instructions on the back of the card for redeeming it appear straightforward: 1. Visit the website. 2. Enter the code from the back of your card and click 'Redeem gift card'. 3. Choose from 100 brands. There is a barcode and several lines of text that are so small I can't read them, even with a magnifying glass. Sounds simple, right? Not at all. After failing to redeem my card, I left a review since the company hadn’t replied to my email. They provided additional instructions that weren’t on the original card, indicating that the code on the card must be converted to a store card, which involves a process, assuming the store even recognizes it. How was I supposed to know that? You're meant to be able to 'filter' stores for online or in-store purchases, but good luck finding something you like among 100 stores. The e-card I managed to convert from the code will only work in-store, despite selecting 'online' in the filter. As mentioned before, the closest store that claims to have my item is 20 miles away, making it costly to drive there with no guarantee they’ll have what I want. The only response I received to my complaint was that they 'don’t control the store's redemption options'. Okay, but what about the rest of the convoluted process that wasn't explained? I found one store that recognized the card, but their choices were £15, £25, or £50. My card was £20, and I couldn’t enter my own amount. Rather than pay an extra £5 without knowing if they have what I want, I chose the £15 option. According to the company, I could redeem the remaining £5, but I wasn’t able to and refuse to waste more time trying. I feel bad for my friend who spent £20 on this card as a gift for me. Should I pretend I bought something nice or tell her the truth that it was a waste? For her sake, I’ll lie, but the only winners here are the people behind the company.
