I booked a rental car through expedia, but when I wanted to pick it up, the rental company offered me a car "in the same category" that had 30% less trunk capacity and at best half the charging speed of the advertised car - not expedia's fault. I called expedia from the counter, they called back the rental company, and when I finally asked if I could cancel the booking, expedia offered to pay the difference for a specific upgrade, they send me an email confirming that and asked me to send in the invoice. So far so nice!Unfortunately, now three weeks later I still hadn't received the money, so I called again, and after a 40 minute call, they plain and cold rejected my claim because "the car was available".I would have never picked that expensive car, if it wasn't for expedia's offer to refund.Terrible and expensive experience, never using them again.
