Showed up early and waited patiently for them to open. A female employee came to check on me. I explained that my back tire was very low this morning and my husband had filled it with air before he left for work. I told her I didn’t mind waiting for them to open because I needed the tire fixed. Once they opened a nice young man greeted me and I told him the same thing. I filled out the paperwork and they pulled my vehicle into the bay. It wasn’t long before the young man came and told me that it was a screw and the guy was getting ready to patch it. I sat there a few more minutes and the guy working on my vehicle came with two quotes for tires($336.77). I thought to myself, I knew that the tire could be patched because the screw was in an area where it could be. The guy proceeded to tell me my tire had fix a flat in it! I immediately asked to see the tire with fix a flat in it. He looked at me as though I was crazy. Yes! I wanted to see it. He took me back and showed me the tire. Fix a flat goes in wet then hardens to seal any holes/punctures. Well, I ran my fingers over what he called fix a flat and it was wet and not sticky. I rubbed it between my fingers and it didn’t harden. I said let me call my husband. I was very verbal when speaking to my husband on the phone feeling that since I was a woman that they were trying to take advantage of me. Sidenote****I grew up around mechanics. My parents owed a service station for decades. **** i told the guy to put my tire back on and I would take it somewhere else. I got in my car and drove to Newnan. I explained what happened and they fixed my tire for less than $20. And guess what there was NOT one drop of fix a flat in my tire!!! My advice is not to judge a book by its cover because you never know who you could be dealing with.
