More dreadful customer service. I called in December because I'd stopped receiving emails. I was told my account had reached its capacity. I was asked if I'd like to upgrade for $7. As I'd originally bought my hosting at a yearly rate, I assumed this was for the year, so I said yes. The woman I spoke to put the order through but when I got clarity that this was monthly charged. I asked for it to be cancelled and said I didn't want it. She said she'd cancelled it, but Fasthosts continued to charge me monthly. And in February I realised they'd charged me for three months of something I'd said I didn't want and which they told me had been cancelled. When I phoned to get this cancelled, the person I spoke to couldn't understand me, kept repeating back to me things I DIDN'T say about my experience and it took me over three times to explain what the problem was. He then told me couldn't refund me for the December and January payments because I'd 'used' that service, which actually I hadn't, because I'd been keeping storage capacity down. When I posted a one star review about all this on Trustpilot, Fasthosts responded to say "We'll investigate the situation regarding the incorrect charges and the misunderstanding during your call. If you could raise a support ticket from your Fasthosts account I would be happy to see if we are able to resolve the issue with the payments." So I did. All they did in response to this ticket was to send a screenshot of the refund for the February payment and tell me. "I understand you were requesting a refund for the previous months; however, I am sorry to inform you that we are unable to process this." So in effect, raising a ticket achieved ABSOLUTELY NOTHING apart from wasting my time. They still refuse to refund me for charging for a service a categorically told them I didn't want. They are thieves.
