Went into store with my chain to get the clasp fixed and asked how much it would cost. The assistant looked through her eye glass and then got her price list out. She advised it would be a total of £129 to get both ends repaired. I paid and they sent the chain away. About 2 weeks later I received a call to say they had heard from their goldsmith to say that the cost would be an additional £50 on top of thr quoted price. I pointed out they quoted me £129 at this point (and at at no other time) said it was an estimate. I argued the point as this was never mentioned however they wouldnt listen. Unless I agreed to the additional cost they would get the chain returned unrepaird and when collected would refund the money. Terrible service to be given a quote for repair for them to then go back on this price and want to charge more. I will get the chain back and find an alternative jewellers who will stick to the quoted price and not move the goal posts. Fair to say I will not be returning to the Ipswich store again.
