In August 2025, I finally took steps to get a will prepared. This was with Simpler Law. Now in 2026, I was approached to submit feedback but on Fidelis Legal Services, who allegedly prepare Simpler Law's paperwork. This is somewhat confusing but if both firms share the effort then they can share my review.
To get the ball rolling in August took very little effort. Particulars were taken so that a Family and Estate will could be formulated. This was conducted mid-August. When October had begun I chose to ask for a status update and was informed matters take time given I live in Northern Ireland. Mid-November saw another status request. It seems my paperwork had become misplaced but would now progress. In time, it thankfully arrives but due to personal reasons I cannot progress. December sees my father become very unwell and in January he passed away. Regrettably, on my part the paperwork remains motionless.
As the end of February approaches, Simpler Law reach out. I apologise for my delay and relay recent news. The news is somewhat acknowledged by a hasty employee who did seem more pre-occupied with asking if I can provide feedback, and a request may come from Fidelis Legal Services. The request was received but on the assumption I would be leaving a 5* review. At times, it's wise to sleep on your thoughts.
And I did. There is no 5* review. Simpler Law and Fidelis Legal Services can share this feedback, identically. What began as a simple and smooth process turned unnecessarily lengthy. Matters take time because of where I live? Northern Ireland has hot and cold running water, electricity and postal services! And then my paperwork becomes misplaced? In due course I shall seek another firm to write and replace my will. And no, I do not wish to be contacted.
