In August 2025, I finally took steps to get a will prepared. This was with Simpler Law. Now in 2026, I was approached to submit feedback but on Fidelis Legal Services, who allegedly prepare Simpler Law's paperwork. This is somewhat confusing but if both firms share the effort then they can share my review.

To get the ball rolling in August took very little effort. Particulars were taken so that a Family and Estate will could be formulated. This was conducted mid-August. When October had begun I chose to ask for a status update and was informed matters take time given I live in Northern Ireland. Mid-November saw another status request. It seems my paperwork had become misplaced but would now progress. In time, it thankfully arrives but due to personal reasons I cannot progress. December sees my father become very unwell and in January he passed away. Regrettably, on my part the paperwork remains motionless.

As the end of February approaches, Simpler Law reach out. I apologise for my delay and relay recent news. The news is somewhat acknowledged by a hasty employee who did seem more pre-occupied with asking if I can provide feedback, and a request may come from Fidelis Legal Services. The request was received but on the assumption I would be leaving a 5* review. At times, it's wise to sleep on your thoughts.

And I did. There is no 5* review. Simpler Law and Fidelis Legal Services can share this feedback, identically. What began as a simple and smooth process turned unnecessarily lengthy. Matters take time because of where I live? Northern Ireland has hot and cold running water, electricity and postal services! And then my paperwork becomes misplaced? In due course I shall seek another firm to write and replace my will. And no, I do not wish to be contacted.

Avoid this service at all costs.

Avoid this service at all costs. The representative who sold the trust policy to my late father assured us that it would streamline everything after his passing. This was far from the reality! The estate process took months, and I ended up handling much of the work because the initial representative was utterly incompetent. We then encountered several others who were not much better. They took weeks, sometimes months, to respond to emails. This service is quick to accept payment from customers, but once a customer has passed away, they obscure their processes and hide behind claims of ‘not being able to disclose’ to extract more fees. They employ their own pricey contractors and refuse to disclose their costs! As noted in other reviews, they complicate an already challenging situation. If you’re considering using them, think twice! If they’re already involved, seek a way out.

Please don’t use this company

Please don’t use this company. The agent that sold the trust policy to my late father convinced us that having this is in place would make everything smoother after he died. This could not have been further from the truth! The estate side took months, I still ended up doing a lot of the work as initially the agent we had was completely incompetent. We then had several more who weren’t much better. They took weeks, sometimes months to reply to emails. This company are happy to take money from paying customers but once the paying customers has passed away they shroud their dealings in secrecy and hide behind ‘not being able to tell you’ in order to take more money. They use their own expensive contractors and then won’t tell you how much they cost! As other reviews say they make an already difficult time much more difficult. If you are reading this review as someone thinking of using them, don’t! If they are already involved and you can find a way out do.

Awful company. Avoid at all costs.

This is 1 of the worse and most unprofessional companies Ive ever had the misfortune of dealing with. When so many people are having the exact same negative experience, its not something you can simply ignore. Ive also read some of Fedelis's responses to these complaints and the gaslighting and dishonesty is so obvious to anyone who has dealt with them. My late fathers property sold a year ago for approx £775,000. As others have stated, no one informed us. We only found out when driving past the property, we noticed a window wide open. We've requested in writing, information such as the final estate report and amount remaining in the account. They respond 4 to 6 weeks later (if you're lucky) through a person you've never heard of. (Case handlers seem to last no more that 6 months max in this company). They ignore your request but assure you they are almost ready to distribute funds, they just need to "wait for a minor refund" from HMRC or whoever. They wont provide any proof this refund claim is even real, but shouldnt take more than a few weeks they say, so nothing to worry about.2 to 3 months later when you finally get a response, having chased them up for weeks, they will inform you they are now looking for specific documents, such as bank account details. Information they were already given several years ago in the probate process. They are clearly stalling for time. I have friends and family members who have been in a similar situation to myself, but with professional solicitors from another firm. Their cases are wrapped up in a couple months post house sale, with regular, honest updates every step of the way. Unlike this company. Ive read horror stories of beneficiaries having to wait multiple years with very little progress made. Please do yourself a favor and heed the many warnings on here. Research and go for a more reputable company/solicitor. Stay clear of this company at all costs, to avoid the stress they've put me and my family through. Im now seeking legal advice to take this further and can only hope I'll recieve my share of the estate one day.

AWFUL services - no professionalism, organisation or empathy

My father died three years ago. The sale of his estate was completed this January. Since then I've had FIVE different people deal with my case before leaving. Each time a new staff member left, not only were we not notified, but it was left to us to continually contact the company for information and to keep nudging them to progress the case forwards.I am still yet to receive MY money that I should have inherited from my DEAD father, but am yet to because of the lack of professionalism and organisation within the company. In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised to find out they've had the money for a while now and are just holding it to gain interest. Will be looking into further legal action against the company for the awful treatment of my case. I am trying to move on from the grief, but am constantly having to put up with this instead. I've had two houses fall through from lack of deposit because of the length of time this process has taken - despite reassurance I'd have received the money by now on multiple occasions.Shame on you.

If I could give this company a

If I could give this company a - I absolutely would. I can not believe how unprofessional they are, they show no empathy at all at all time which is already difficult enough. You literally have to beg to get any information out of them, ring up daily to push them to do their job, you are not allowed contact with the agent and you are made to feel like you shouldn’t be asking questions on the situation. Kept in the dark the whole way along and given snotty emails back. The house was sold and the new owners had already put a to let sign up, but we were not told the house was sold and was only aware of this because we went around to my late mothers house to find the sign up. When finally discussed, all of a sudden it had sold and the signing of contracts was taking place 😡. ( my opinion the funds were being held and gaining interest). I could go on and on with the negative actions of this company. My mother and father would be turning in their graves if the knew what we have had to endure due to this shambles of a firm. AVOID for the sake of your loved ones!!
