I purchased an engagement ring from a local store on 8/12/25, with the understanding it would be resized and ready before Christmas for a proposal. On 12/12/25, I was informed that resizing wasn't possible and the only option was to order the same ring, which would take until mid-January. I feel completely misled into believing it would be available in time. I stressed its importance multiple times and was assured everything would be fine. The sales assistant was not helpful. A hard credit check was done, which will stay on my record, and this situation could have been avoided with truthful information. Now, I'm left without a Christmas present for my partner and unable to propose on that special day. Staff should be certain in these situations, especially when concerns are repeatedly raised. It feels like profit was prioritized over genuine customer care. Edit: I reached out to customer service, who promised a callback that never happened. The ring's price dropped by 10%, and while I asked the store to match it, I was told they don't discount diamond rings, despite the terms stating discounts apply in-store as well. Edit again: I spoke with customer service over the phone, which was a waste of time, as they showed no interest in my concerns. Now I've been told the ring will be ready by late January, nearly two months after my purchase, which was meant for Christmas. There is a complete lack of care from them regarding this matter.
