I purchased an engagement ring from a local store on 8/12/25, believing it would be resized and ready before Christmas for a proposal. On 12/12/25, I was told the ring couldn't be resized and that I would have to order the same one, which wouldn't arrive until mid-January. I feel misled about the availability of the ring. I emphasized its importance multiple times and was assured it would be fine. The sales assistant was unhelpful. A hard credit check was done, which will remain on my record, and this situation could have been avoided had I been given accurate information. Now, I'm left without a Christmas gift for my partner and unable to propose on that special day. Staff should be more certain in such situations, especially when concerns are raised repeatedly. It feels like profit was prioritized over genuine customer care. Edit: I contacted customer service, who promised a callback that never came. The ring's price has dropped by 10%, and when I asked the store to match it, I was told they don't discount diamond rings, despite the terms stating discounts apply online and in-store. Edit again: I spoke with customer service over the phone, which was unproductive, as they showed no interest in my issues. Now I've been informed that the ring will be ready by late January, almost two months after my purchase, which was intended for Christmas. There is a complete lack of care from them regarding this matter.
