We moved to Flexport when Shopify Fulfillment Network was acquired. For a small DTC brand, our experience has been overwhelmingly negative.Pricing & minimumsAfter the transition, our long term storage cost jumped to ~$7.00 per cubic foot on our invoices. For context, the boutique 3PLs we spoke with quoted $0.25–$0.50/cu ft.We were billed a $500 monthly platform/account fee even in months with little to no activity. We were notified of a new $5,000/month fulfillment fee minimum starting January 2026—owed regardless of order volume.Q4 surcharges increased several line items during peak, pushing effective costs even higher.Service & operationsWe opened multiple tickets regarding shipping and inventory discrepancies; resolution times and outcomes did not meet our expectations.Off-boardingTo move roughly 1.5 pallets of inventory to a new warehouse, we were quoted $7,225 for outbound transfer. That number was 6x above competing quotes we obtained.Given these factors, we’ve chosen to leave Flexport and return to a smaller, boutique 3PL that aligns with our size and service expectations. If you’re a small or mid-size brand on Shopify, consider talking to ShipDaddy, eFulfillment Service, Fetch Fulfillment, OTW Fulfillment, Fulfillrite, or XB Fulfillment—all offered transparent pricing, responsive support, and strong references during our interviews.
