Booking.com flights. You’re not dealing with them, that’s the problem.
Avoid Booking.com for flights at all costs.
What they don’t make clear is that you are not actually dealing with Booking.com, but with third-party agents such as Gotogate. This became obvious when I received confirmation from ‘Gotogate / Supersaver Travel’ rather than Booking.com itself.
The service is painfully inefficient. Every call involves being left on hold for 20 minutes or more, often only to be cut off. After several attempts, when you finally reach someone, the process is slow and frustrating, with staff who seem poorly trained and unable to resolve even simple requests without repeatedly putting you back on hold.
I purchased what was advertised as a ‘flexible’ ticket for €128.01. When I needed to change it, I was charged an additional €72.77, over half the original ticket price and was told this was acceptable because they had ‘waived the booking fee’. That is not a flexible ticket in any reasonable sense.
To make matters worse, equivalent tickets are still being sold today at similar prices, which makes the excessive change fee even harder to justify.
I have full documentation of the booking and pricing to support this.
Booking.com presents itself as a travel agent, but in reality, you are passed to third parties who provide poor service and limited support.
Save yourself the time, stress, and money, book directly with the airline.
