I went to purchase a shopify store that was advertised really well. The buyer in his listing description included many promises and even said there was an alternative option to purchase. Flippa let this listing be up and let this user manipulate users into thinking the contracts and buying was made thru payments made directly to merchant. There was no guidance whatsoever no flags in the conversations to give me an idea on how to close a deal. I am very sad as i just lost $6100. :( I feel like i lost so much. I saved so much for this too.
I worked with Lawrence from Flippa - he was professional and experienced. The whole process took about 6 months, but not without some hiccups, not to the fault of Flippa, but generally the nature of such transactions. Despite the unforeseen circumstances, Lawrence remained professional and dutiful in following up with potential buyers, till an eventual sale of the business. He also provided sound advice through the negotiation process, and i leaned heavily on his experience. Overall, 5 stars for professionalism and expertise.
I honestly do not understand the hype around Flippa. I repeatedly heard that starter websites with zero revenue, priced under $5,000, sell quickly. Based on this, I listed my website on Flippa using the Starter package.
It has now been more than three weeks, and the experience has been very disappointing. The listing shows 43 views, but this number is not real. More than 30 of those views are simply page refreshes from another Flippa account belonging to my buddy, who refreshed the listing multiple times just to check visibility. Flippa still counted those mock refreshes as real views. In reality, I believe only around 10 views may be genuine.
I listed a fully functional booking web application, not a basic or unfinished site. It includes a complete booking system, package listings, blog management, and full backend functionality. The sale includes everything. The live website, full source code, domain, business email, and all content are included.
The domain alone has an appraisal value of approximately $1,600 USD on multiple domain appraisal platforms. Despite this, Flippa does not seem to show my listing to real buyers. If the platform itself is not giving exposure, how is a seller supposed to make a sale.
Flippa frequently highlights success stories of businesses selling for millions of dollars, but for smaller sellers, even selling a solid and complete product for $5,000 feels nearly impossible. Overall, this has been a very poor experience, especially considering that I paid for the listing.

During my time in the UAE, I received invaluable assistance from a representative who guided me through the entire selling process. They provided insights on how to develop the right strategy, enhance my listing, and identify the most promising offers. Thanks to this support, I successfully sold my store at my desired price within 30 days, which was exactly the result I was aiming for. The representative was knowledgeable, honest, and genuinely supportive. I'm also excited to see the platform expanding in Dubai. Thank you for your help! I truly appreciate your assistance.
The valuation for web applications is extremely disappointing. I have a strong web platform built with a specific framework, valued at a minimum of around $60k, yet they offered only $3k. This feels completely unrealistic, almost like a bad joke.
